Be A Light!

This morning when I went to work it was light out! It has never been light out before! Just seeing the sun made my whole day brighter. Its so funny that something so simple as the sun can make such a big difference in my day. I think that is why we as Christians are called to be the light of the world. Everyone is attracted to light, whether it comes from the sun, or from us. Go be a light!

Also, the weather today here has been SO nice! I spent a big part of today outside! That feels so nice after have snow awhile ago.

Almost My Birthday!

As many as you know, my birthday is Friday! And to me, my birthday is the biggest deal in the world. hahahaha My mother and husband have been doing some planning for the big day, and I'm looking forward to what is in store.

Our tree door is almost dropped all the leaves. And what does this mean? My birthday is near!

My mother has given me my birthday present on Saturday, but I'm not to open it till my birthday. The gift is very light. I hope is not empty. Can you tell I'm an only child? hehehehe

Sermon Notes

So, funny story about church today, Donnie and I pulled up in the parking lot, and thought, wow, there are not a lot of cars here today. Then we go in and there are not a whole lot of people around. Then we go into the theater, and they are still setting up. Yup....We forgot to set our clocks back. I felt SO silly. Oh well.

Power Driven
Everyone has power over something or someone. How do you use your power?
First, assess your position of power (genesis 3.5) Then don't take your success too seriously (Daniel 4.28-32) We need to not miss the opportunity for which your power was given. People need to choose what you will use your power for.

Jesus has to be in the driver seat of our lives. Our goal in life, like Paul, should be God's slave.

Prestons Wedding!

A few weekends ago, my dear cousin Preston got married to a wonderful girl, Jackie. The wedding was great fun, and it was nice to be with family for the weekend. I had a great time with my parents new camera and was playing with it all night. I will post some of the pictures I took here.

This is my mom and I getting ready before the wedding. I took it myself. :-)

Tonight's Dinner

Tonight with dinner Donnie and I decided to make tortillas from scratch. I saw a cooking show that did this, and it did not looks that difficult, so we tried it. However, as things always are, it was harder than it looked. I was fun to try something new, but I think I will buy them from the store from now on.

Book Review

When does an affair begin? Not with the first forbidden touch…but with the first forbidden thought. Unexpectedly, you find yourself enjoying a powerful emotional bond with another man. You feel like you matter to someone again. And the door you thought was locked so firmly–the door to sexual infidelity–is suddenly ajar. The only way women can survive the intense struggle for sexual integrity is by guarding not just your body, but your mind and heart as well. Every Woman’s Battle can help you learn to do that. Using real-life stories and examples from her own struggle, Shannon Ethridge helps women like you–whether married, engaged, or planning to marry someday.

I finished the book, "Every Woman’s Battle" a couple of weeks ago, but did not get a chance to review it in my blog till now.

I highly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to all women. As a newly married woman, it brought a lot of things to my attention that I had not thought that much about it in the past. One thing that really got my attention is that we need to view our relationship with God, as a bride and a husband. I had never thought about my God as my husband before, and that really puts a new light onto that relationship.

Frugal Fridays

As the mother of two wonderful gerbils, I have found a way to make bedding last a lot longer. Our gerbils love to chew on cardboard tubes. (as I'm sure other small animals do also) Anything from paper towel tubes, to the tubes around aluminum foil. My husband and I always save any tubes we can find for the gerbils. So I just put a little of the store bought bedding, and then put in many tubes. The gerbils love chewing on the tubes, its good for their teeth, and it provides extra free bedding!

The Gerbils of C-2

Tonight the Gerbils had a photoshoot. This does happen on a regular basis seeing that they are our children. Timpleton is letting me pet him more and more each day, however, Wilber is still not very found of being picked up. Enjoy the photos!

Wilber is the black one, Timpleton is the cream one. :-)

The Door to C-2

I week or two ago, I was thinking that our front door was looking very bland. SO I decided to do something about it. I wanted to make a tree, and to the right you can see a picture of how it turned out. Never mind the can of Pringles on the table. (However, I did get it for about 60
cents with coupons)

Each leaf has a date on it, and after the day passes the leaf goes to the bottom of the tree. You might be asking your self what I'm counting down to. Thanksgiving? Halloween? Christmas? No to all of these. I'm counting down to my birthday! As you can see I have many more leafs to go.

Why I Go

This Sunday at The Oaks church was "Why I Go", and here are some notes that I took on the subject.

1) God is calling.
God calls people in all different ways, to do all different things. He does not promise wealth or fame.

2) What God has called me to do
We are called to do acts of kindness for other believers, and look for ways to serve those who are not following Christ. How do you serve him?
a) Go-er-these are missionaries that go out into the field
b) Mobilzers-these are people that get other people ready to go
c) Senders-people that give money for other people to go
d)Prayers-pray for people that are going
5) Greeters- people who's mission field is to the world right here.

3) God has equipped me for the assignment
Fill in the blanks
God made me_________ and when I ________ I feel his presence.

P.S. Are you thinking....Who took the awesome picture of hot guy? Well...if you are thinking that....yours truly look the picture, and the hottie is my husband. :-)
