Happy Halloween!

I have been so bad about posting this week! But rest assured all is going well here.

Not only is today Halloween, but its the start to my birthday countdown! Tonight my mom and dad are coming over to help take care of the peanut, so Donnie and I can pass out candy! I'll be sure to take lots of pictures!

Frankie's Weekend

While we were in Ohio, Frankie got to spend the night with his puggie cousins. As I have mentioned before, Donnie's family LOVES pugs, so Frankie has MANY pug cousins. Word on the street is that he had a GREAT time, and was playing the whole time with the other pugs.

This is something that I would not believe, but Donnie got to see it first hand. I really think Frankie did not want to come home! However, when he did come home he had a sweater! How cute is he!

What a weekend!

This weekend Donnie, my mom, Joshia and I went to Ohio to visit some family. I'm not sure if this is something I want to do again anytime soon. :-) I have learned that taking a peanut away for just one night can be a lot of work! Here is the problem; the peanut was pretty fussy for most of the trip. Now when I'm home, him being fussy does not really bother me, but when I'm someplace else it stresses me out! I'm happy to be home!
We did have a good time introducing the peanut to his family. We spent some time with his great grandma, and I think she really enjoyed that. (when he was not screaming. hehehe) She even got to feed him lunch!
He did enjoy sleeping on daddy's shoulder while we were there. I think it makes his tummy feel better being like that.
I thought it was great that we had four generations together, so you know we had to document this occasion.
We did have a great time with family, but I'm sure happy to be home! :-)

Doctor Time!

Earlier this week my mom and I took Josiah for a check up. He was 8 pounds 16 ounces! I'm sure by now he is over 9 pounds! On his first visit to the doctor he was only in the 5th percentile for his weight, but now he is in the 25 percentile! The doctor is very pleased with that!

In other news, Josiah had a bath today and he did not even cry! Wowie wow wow!

Diaper Update

As most of you know, before the peanut was born Donnie and I bought over 3,000 diapers to get us though the first year. I have good news to report! We have started to use them! Before this week we were still using newborn diapers. I did not buy any newborn diapers because I thought he was going to be big.

Donnie's cousin Amy did however get us newborn diapers. Those lasted the first couple weeks. Then we had to do the unthinkable and buy newborn diapers. Good thing I still had some coupons! :-)

So, now we are using the size one diapers. They are still really big on him, but I'm not buying anymore newborn diapers! I'm very curious to see how my whole diaper plan is going to work out!

More Pictures!

Some of you commented that there are no pictures of the peanut and me. I thought over this past weekend we could take care of that. These, again, are pictures that my mom took last Sunday. In the picture above both of us look happy.
In this picture, not so much. However, it does make me laugh every time I look at it!
Donnie also got some pictures of the peanut on my shoulder. In this picture he is doing his pirate impression. He does this often.
And this is my favorite picture of the day. He looks so sweet!!!

Picture Time!

While we were over at my parents on Sunday, my mom took a couple family pictures. I have come to discover that family pictures with a 5 week old can be a bit of a challenge. Donnie and I agree that the picture posted above is the best. I will share the others for entertainment.
In this picture, the peanut is quite fascinated with the pumpkin. Not so fascinated with having his picture taken.
In this picture he is telling us he is done taking pictures. Feel free to enlarge the picture for the full effect.

I do hope family photos get easier! :-)

Sunday Fun

On Sunday we headed to my parents house to visit with some friends. We had a great time visiting with everyone, however Josiah cried for a large chunk of the time. He also cried all during church. He was not having a good day.

However, by the time my friend Courtney got there he was asleep and happy. She got to hold him for a bit, and he was as happy as could be. We told her she could not leave, but she leave us to celebrate her parents wedding anniversary. How dare she! :-)

Bath Fun

My mom was over on Friday, and she gave the peanut a bath. It was great that she was giving him a bath so I could take pictures! As you can see in the pictures, he did not have a great time.
However, he did enjoy peeing all over the place! :-)

Happy Sweetest Day!

Donnie gave me the best sweetest day present ever!!!! It was SLEEP!!!! :-) I feel asleep on the couch last night around 7:30 thinking I would sleep for like a half an hour or so. Well.....I woke up at 11:30 pm, and headed to bed. Then I woke up around 5:30am to be on peanut patrol. So I got like 10 hours of sleep!!! My hubby is the best!!!!

Is anyone doing anything fun today?

Happy One Month!

Today is Josiah's one month birthday! I will pass on any birthday wishes that you would like to give him. :-) This has been a hard month, but I have to say, it has gone SO fast!
Here, for your entertainment, is a picture of Donnie with his two sons, Frankie and Josiah. :-)

What do you say?

As I have talked about before, this whole baby thing is pretty hard so far. But I have discovered something. Donnie and I handle this in very different ways when we are around other people. When people ask me how I'm doing, I most likely give an "I'm fine" even if I feel like I'm going to die.

Donnie, on the other hand, will tell you exactly how he is feeling. I would say he wears his heart on his sleeve. I do not. For some reason I feel the need to be in a good mood when I'm out and about. Donnie does not feel this way.

So what about you? Do you wear your heart on your sleeve, like Donnie? Or do you keep your feelings to yourself, like me?

Happy Friday!

I'm so happy it's the weekend. Weekends mean that Donnie's home to help with the peanut! Actually, Donnie was home today, so we got a jump start on the weekend. Things at his work are REALLY slow. That's bad news in terms of money coming in, but great news that he's home more to help out!
I have to say this whole mothering thing is a lot harder than I ever thought it would be. I think the hardest part is the lack of sleep. If I can get 4 solid hours of sleep, I think I have hit the jackpot! I would say the next hardest part is that I have no idea what I'm doing! Sure I have read all the books, but once the baby is in my arms I'm clueless. Donnie says if everyone one is alive at the end of the day, the day has been a success. I think that's good advice.
Now that my mom is back from vacation, she has been coming over to help almost everyday. This has been super helpful. And Josiah loves it, because she will not let him cry like Donnie and I do! :-)
Enjoy the pictures!

It's Chestnut Time!

The chestnuts are falling! Our grass is covered in these spiky things, and the squirrels are loving it. I'm always afraid that they are going to fall from a tree and whack me in the head.
When they fall from the sky and hit the house it sounds SO loud! It makes me jump! Anyone want some chestnuts?

Its Fall!!

On a couple of my friends blogs, they have posted pictures of their fall decorations. This inspired me to go into the basement and pull out all my Halloween decorations.
First is the wreath that I picked up last year at CVS. I think it is so cute!
I also have a spider door mat. (I don't know why it is sideways....sorry!)
And I hung some decorations on the window. These are the same ones that I used to hang up at my parents house when I was little!

Update

I know I have not blogged in a while, so here is an update.

Last Thursday we took the peanut to the doctor, and he is weighing 7 pounds and 5 ounces. The doctor was very happy with that! He is starting to sleep in 3 hour chunks, so that has been very nice.
In a past post I talked about using plastic bottles. Soon after that post I pulled out my glass Dr. Brown bottles, and have been using them. They are harder to clean, because they have a few little parts. However, I think they are really helping. He has a lot less gas issues now that we are using them!

Sad News

Timpleton, one of our beloved gerbils, has passed away. Last night Donnie discovered him unresponsive. He will be missed.
