The Problem with Corn

Donnie and I have a problem in our house currently. It goes by the name of corn.

Awhile back I bought some frozen corn on the cob, and I decided to make some of it last night. Well....it turned out really gross. So gross that there was NO WAY I was going to eat it.

Not wanting it to go to wast I gave the corn on the cob to Frankie to enjoy. Frankie does not have the greatest of teeth, so he was having a hard time with it.

So I went on making dinner, and Donnie and I forgot about Frankie and his corn. But then about 15 minutes later I remember the corn and thought I should throw it away.

Here is where the story turns south. Donnie and I can not find the corn on the cob! We have looked all over our little house with no luck. And there is NO WAY Frankie could have ate the cob and everything. I think we will just follow the trail of ants that will come in a few days. Wish us luck!!!!

Worry

Over the past week I have had some issues with worry. Somehow our sate tax refund got messed up, and its looking like we will not get anything back. This is hard because it was money that we were counting on having. So I turned into a big worry wart.

Then Donnie and I went to get Chinese food, and this was the fortune in the cookie.
Wow. Does God speak to us at all time or what?

Here is the lesson that I feel God wanted me to learn. Before this week Donnie and I would brag about God's goodness when it comes to money all the time. We have VERY little debt right now all thanks to the good Lord.

But this past week I was thinking God was not so good with our money. But then God reminded me that its easy to praise him when things are going well, but it takes much more faith to praise him when things are not going as well. And this is what I know, God is good all the time. Lots of money, or no money God is still good.

I need your help people!

Some of you might remember last year Donnie and I attending the dance recital of the girls I nanny for. Well....its that time of year again. Although the recital is 3 months away the girl have been asking me over and over if I will be able to make it.

And I don't know what to tell them.

Donnie will not be attending. In his words it was kiddy porn last year, and he feels that he should not be looking at little girls (and big girls) shaking what they should not be shaking.

I don't know about myself. It was really bad last year, and I'm not sure I want to be supporting this. However, I would never be able to explain this to the girls in a way they would understand.

To go or not to go, that is the question. I need your input now!!!

Something to think about

Every Wednesday I go to City Mission for a few hours of volunteering. When I first got there today the kids were writing about what people could do to make America great. One little 5 year old said that America would be great if people did not shoot other people.

This made me so sad that a 5 year old is worried about being shot in his neighborhood. I think it makes me more than sad, it makes me angry. It makes me was to scream about life not being fair. However, screaming will not help the problem.

Hope. That is what I have for this little guy. Do I hope that he grows up and moves out of the neighborhood? Absolutely not. His neighborhood needs him to show that there is another way of living that does not involve shooting your neighbor.

The hope that I do have for him comes from the fact that one day he will be in the arms of his heavenly father. He will have a home that no one ever gets shot or even dies. What a glorious day that will be.

My Greek Class

Okay, so I'm not taking Greek, but my photography class just as well could be Greek to me. Last week we did not have class because of the weather, however, I guess the class was made up the next day. The sad part is that I never got a phone call to know this. :-( So now I have missed 2 of the four classes.

However, on the good side, I am learning a lot. When we do work in the studio things come together that we have been learning about in the lecture part of the class. And everyone, including the teacher are more than willing to help out.

Will I get all my 5 projects done by next week? Unlikely. Will the world come to a halt if I don't? Probably not. :-)

Coolest Thing Ever (next to Armenian Brandy)

Sponsor a child online through Compassion's Christian child sponsorship ministry. Search for a child by age, gender, country, birthday, special needs and more.

Some of you might know that I sponsor a young lady in Thailand (my home county hehehe) through Compassion International. Well...Compassion International is doing the coolest thing ever!

They have sent 15 Christian bloggers to Uganda to blog about the work that Compassion is doing there. Its like going to Uganda for free people! :-)

The fun thing about this whole concept, is that some of the bloggers are old, some are young. Some have traveled the world, others have not ever left the US. Some our housewives, and others rock stars. What a great mix of people to see Uganda through!

Get started by going here!

Free Stuff!

So the other day I had to pick up something at CVS and I did not have one single coupon to use, and the thing I needed was not on sale. I know....it was a sad...sad day.

But then I looked at my receipt and there were coupons for free stuff!!! This has NEVER happened to me before. There was a coupon for FREE CVS aspirin, and a coupon for FREE CVS vitamins.

So yesterday I went to CVS thinking there was some sorta fine print that I was not reading, but nope. I got my two things all the way free.

Has anyone else got this from CVS? I'm hoping it will happen again!

I love where I live!

Donnie and I live in the coolest neighborhood ever. Tonight we heard a knock at the door, and Donnie went to go check it out. (while Frankie slept, of course) It turned out to be our neighbor bearing gifts.

Somehow she heard that it was our anniversary, and wanted to bring us a gift. I'm not sure how she got this information seeing that our anniversary is not till May, but I'm not going to question it.
This gift included a very nice card, and a bottle of Armenian brandy in the shape of a snake. I can honestly say I have never seen anything like this before! So Courtney....do Armenian's make good brandy?

Three words. Coolest....Neighborhood.....EVER!!!!!

New Phones!

Earlier this week Donnie and I got new phones! We made the switch to AT&T because that is who we have our Internet and home phone with.

I priced everything out online, and I thought AT&T was going to be so much cheaper than Sprint, but once you add in all the little extra fee's its about the same.

However, with Sprint we had a hard time getting a signal in our house, but with AT&T so far that is not a problem.
Look how much thinner my new phone is compared to my old one! Crazy! Does anyone else have AT&T as their wireless provider?

Yo Gabba Gabba!

So do you guys all know about the new show on NicJr called Yo Gabba Gabba? I was in the dark about this show until reading about it from Rocks In My Dryer. (she is not the biggest fan of the show to say the least) However, after watching a couple episodes online, I have to say I'm totally hooked. I love it! So I want your two cents. Is it the most horrible thing ever, or like me are you in love?
