Frankie Update

I posted before that Frankie was itching all the time. Well…for some odd reason he had stopped scratching all together. So who knows why Frankie was itching, but he is better now, so all is good.

We did take him to the vet the other day, and the vet says he is in great shape! Well, everything but his teeth. The vet says that he needs to have a teeth cleaning. I did ask for an estimate of how much this would cost.
Based on this we are saying no to the teeth cleaning. So all you dog owners out there, do you get your dogs teeth cleaned?

Hi Stacey,

We had our beagle's teeth cleaned 2 years ago and I think it was a waste of money. I don't know how abrasive they are to the dog's teeth, but they had to have done something to make tartar stick better because a year after the cleaning his teeth were as yellow as they were when we had his teeth cleaned. (It took 7 years for his teeth to get that dirty the first time) - -hope that makes sense.

We give our dog little unbleached rawhide sticks to chew on and the hartz dental ball and those keep his teeth and gums in pretty good shape.

I have never got Jacksons teeth cleaned but when I take him to petsmart every month for his bath and stuff they brush his teeth with the package I get so I am not sure how that affects his teeth but that is all I have done for him.

Teeth cleaning! No way! Just brush his teeth once a week.
