Scar Neck

It has been almost exactly a year that I had thyroid surgery. I'm not real happy about how my scar is looking so I made an appointment with the doctor so she could take a look at it.

She said a couple of things were going on. One, because I'm pregnant my estrogen levels are wacky. And because of this it makes the scar look funny. And second she told me was that I need to be using sunscreen SPF 55 on my face and neck.....everyday.

I'm now being good, and putting on my sunscreen every morning. So, if the next time you see me I'm more pasty white than normal, and smelling of sunscreen, you will know why.

Does anyone else wear sunscreen everyday?

I do not, although I should, wear sunscreen daily. I do, however, make a point to wear Oil of Olay (it has SPF 15 in it--all day coverage--but goes on like regular lotion)on my face when I know I'm going to be outside a lot instead of my regular moisturizer. I have an appointment with my dermatologist in a few weeks and I have a feeling I'm going to want to wear sunscreen a lot more after that appointment.

Yep I wear sunscreen everyday all year round. The best thing is to find a type that isn't too perfumey or oily. See you tomorrow and don't forget to wear your sunscreen.
