Today I headed to the doctor for a check up. And know what she told me? The baby is BIG! She said I could wind up with a 10 pound baby. When I told my doctor that I was over 10 pounds when I was born, she understands now why this baby is so big.
So she is going to keep close tabs on me for the rest of the pregnancy. The plan as of right now, is that she wants me to go into natural labor. Then as labor progresses, she has warned me that I might have to have a c-section. *Please note that my mother had me completely naturally.
I think its funny that I have only gained a pound this whole pregnancy, but I have a big baby! Its amazing how God takes care of us!

Babysitter
I came across this interesting link, telling how much babysitters get paid based on zip codes.
Take a look at it, and tell me what you think!

Best Gift Ever!
Tonight Donnie and I got together with our dear friend Mary. Mary was not able to make my shower, and wanted to bring us a baby gift!
It was a mysterious bag that said it would predict our child's future. (on a nice tee shirt) I was most curious to find out what the future held for our child, so I quickly opened the bag. And know what it said?
Criminal Mastermind. Too funny. I about died laughing. This has got to be the best gift ever!

Less than 2 months!
Only 56 more days till my due date! (not that I'm counting or anything!)
And I have good news! I have gained a pound!
When I found out I was pregnant I weighed 175. During the first trimester I dropped to 168 from being sick all the time. But currently I'm at 176! So I'm officially positive one pound!
Its funny how all my weight has shifted around. My legs have never looked so good! However, I truly feel that my belly is getting bigger every day! I think I'm going to pop!

Vaccines (part 2)
Donnie and I have come to some conclusions about what vaccines we will, and will not give our child. Here is our list.
We will give our child HIB, PC, and DTaP.
The following we will not give our child:
Hep B- I do not have hep B, so there is really no way our child could get this. (unless they become sexually active at a VERY early age)
Rotavirus- This vaccine has only been out for a short amount of time, has really odd ingredients, and the infant fatality rate from the virus is very low.
Polio- There have been no cases of polio since 1985 in the US, so the chances of our child getting polio are rare.
MMR- Measles, mumps and rubella are all not very common and not very serious. Also, some studied have linked this vaccine to autism.
Chickenpox- There are some really odd things in this vaccine, like human DNA. And rarely is chickenpox very serious.
Flu- Many flu vaccines still have trace amounts of mercury in them. Mercy has been linked to autism.
These are our thoughts. What are yours?

Lazy Pug
Yesterday I was on the computer and I looked over to the couch and saw this:
Please note that his tongue in out, and his one leg is propped up on the arm of the couch. The funny part is that, after I took the picture he woke up, raised his head to look at me, and then went right back to sleep in the same position. I love that pug!

I'm a bad mother!
Yesterday, Donnie and I went for another ultrasound.
Has anyone seen the episode of Sex and the City where Miranda goes for her ultrasound, and she fakes it? Well...that was me yesterday. I could not see anything that this poor lady was trying to show me, so I faked it.
Things like "Oh wow!" were coming out of my mouth when all I was seeing was static. It was sad. Donnie on the other hand could see everything this lady was pointing out. Even more sad.
After the ultrasound we decided to grab a bite to eat at Big Boy. And you know what? I being the horrible mother that I am left all the ultrasound pictures there. Lucky for me, Donnie remember them and grabbed them. I'm quoted as saying "Thank goodness you remember the static pictures!"
I'm only posting one of the static pictures for your enjoyment. This one is my favorite, mainly because I can tell its a face! :-)
And yes, they did tell us the sex, and no we are not telling. I still don't trust these shady ultrasound people. :-)

What do you think?
At my shower on Sunday I got to talk to my dear friend Elizabeth who just had a baby three months ago. I asked about her thoughts about vaccinations. She told me her thoughts, and recommend "The Vaccine Book".
Sunday night I headed to Borders and got the book, and I'm almost done with it. I have to say, it is making my head spin. There is so much to think about!
I think Donnie and I are only going to give our baby a few vaccines at a much slower schedule. Now we just have to find a pediatrician who is okay with this. :-)
What are your thought? Vaccines or no vaccines?

A Mouse in the House!
On Sunday, when we were moving the house around, we discovered that we were not alone. Somehow a mouse had gotten in, and was ready to help us move.
Our neighborhood has lots of trees and lots of wildlife. (well....city wildlife) Donnie and I have seen groundhogs, bunnies, possums, chipmunks, and many squires. We also have a family of raccoons that we think are living in the vacant house behind us. So seeing a mouse was not really all that shocking.
I was so proud of Frankie. (Now keep in mind that this is the pug that is afraid of the gerbils, and hamster.) You know what? He chased the mouse! And barked at it! I was so proud!
So Donnie and Steven decided that they were going to catch it, and the did! I was very impressed. I do have to say that the little guy was VERY cute, with the biggest ears. I have a feeling Donnie wanted to keep the little guy, but I made him take it outside.
I know the pictures are not all that great. It was hard to take his picture!

The Big Move
On Sunday, Donnie's friend Steven came over to help us move some furniture. We wanted to get the computer room cleaned out so we can turn it into a baby room! In my mind this was going to be an easy process, to be done in three easy steps. 1.) Take blue couch from the living room the the curb. 2.) Move couch from computer room into living room. 3.) Move computer desk into living room.
However, in reality this was much harder. The computer room had TONS of stuff in it. Who knew? :-) So we had to move all this little stuff out first. This turned the house into a total mess as we were trying to find room to get all this stuff out of the way!
So we finally got the computer room empty. I even washed all the walls in the room! Go me! Then we loaded the room back up with baby stuff.
Slowly the house is turning back into a house! Wish us luck!
Then the boys had the task of moving furniture through tiny doorways and hallways. Where was two men and a truck!?!?! Then of course once the boys moved the furniture into place, I decided that I did not like it where they put it. :-) They were very kind to me.
They ended up taking two couches, one chair, and three lamps to the curb. Our tiny house could not hold all this!So we finally got the computer room empty. I even washed all the walls in the room! Go me! Then we loaded the room back up with baby stuff.

Baby Shower
On Saturday I had the pleasure of attending my first of three baby showers! This one my dear friend Katie hosted for me at her house. As you can see my the pictures, the theme was mad hatter, and everyone had to wear a hat. This was great fun!
It was also great fun to see people that I don't always get to see all the time. I was so happy that my old roommates from college were able to make it! We had a great time!

China
As some of you know, I'm anti toys made in China. With all the recalls going on, it makes me leery. So I have made the rule that our kid will avoid toys made in China. (I know that some of what's on my registry is made in China. I was running out of options.)
This has my mother very apprehensive. She goes looking for cute baby toys and they are all made in China. I say, does our kid really need lots of toys? A very wise lady once said that all a child needs is a red rubber ball. (one not made in China, that is..hehehe)
But there is hope out there. I found this website that sells toys made in Europe, and the US. How cool is that? Now my mother can shop her heart out! :-) We don't want our kid winding up in jail! Right dad? :-)

I did it!!!!
Donnie and I do not have cable, so I singed up on line to get my converter box coupons. (for the big switch over to digital) When they arrived I found the converter box that I wanted (pictured above) and ordered it from radio shack.
When it came Donnie was not around, so I thought I would hook it up myself. Now, keep in mind I'm not very good at this kind of thing AT ALL. But it looked simple enough, there were only three little steps.
An hour and half later I had it working! I got everything set up in no time, but it would not work! So an hour later I discovered that I did not have the converter box turned on. I turned on the box and it worked!!! Yeah!!! Go Me!!!
