Update!
I have not gotten any results back from the many tests I had done last week. However, I should hear from the doctor today. I am feeling much better.
The new house is great! Two Men and a Truck moved us on Saturday. They were great!!! So fast!!! But we still have some odds and ends at the apartment that we will have to get out before the 1st. Donnie and I spent most of the weekend painting. We painted the second bedroom, our bedroom, and the living room. The only thing we have left is the hallway!!!
I do have lots of pictures that I hope to post on Wednesday!

We Did It!!!
These are the appliance that I have been talking about in a couple past posts. I finally took a picture of them today. I have been told by many people not to get rid of them, (seeing that retro is cool) but I still say they have to go! I would be more than happy to sell them to someone who thinks retro is cool. hehehehe

What a day!
Saturday night my ears started to hurt, but I did not think much of it.
Sunday after church I felt horrible. I ached all over, fever, cough, headache. So I called the family I nanny for I told them I would not be in on Monday. I was hoping this would be like a 24 hour bug, and I would be back to work soon.
Today I did not get out of bed but two times. One, to take a shower. (the hot water felt so good on my aching body) And two, to go to the doctor. I was in no shape to drive so Donnie took me to his doctor (its a walk in clinic) after he got out of work. The clinic is SO ghetto I would prefer not to go there, but desperate times call for desperate measures. I'm happy to report that the doctor that I got was not ghetto at all, and I really liked him
The first thing the doctor asked me about was my thyroid. I thought this was a bit odd because I thought I had the flu. I have had issues with my thyroid in the past but nothing bad enough that needed treatment. I had not noticed this, but I have a rather large lump on my neck. He basically told me he thought my thyroid was going wacko.
Then came the tests. I had blood taken, an x ray of my chest, a breathing test thing, and an EKG. The EKG showed that something funky is going on in my body. So, I have to go back to this doctor for a 24 hour EKG test, a heart echo sound (or something like that) and have a ultrasound done of my thyroid.
Needless to say this all flipped me out. I go in thinking I have the flu, and leave needing test done on my heart. However, the doctor did give me an antibiotic for everything else that is going on. The doctor also have me this odd inhaler to use that does not spray anything, but you have to suck this power out of it. I can't figure out how to use it. Donnie has been helping.
Also needless to say is I have no pictures for today. I'm in a sorry state, and you should all be thankful that I'm sparing you from seeing me like this.
For all my prayer warrior friends out there, please pray for the healing of my body. Also, please pray that God will grant me peace during this time. Thanks!

City Living
Here is where is gets frustrating. I WANT to live in Detroit. I want to live here to see a city changed. I want to be a part of that change. However, we are encountering so many bad things about living in the city. For a split second I thought we should just move some place else. Donnie and I did talk about it. However, God has given me a heart for the city. This is where I'm going to stay (until the cost of our house insurance drives us to the poor house).

Happy (day after) Valentines Day!!
I had to run around a bit in the afternoon, and when I got back Donnie had flowers and lunch waiting for me!! How cool is that?
And to top the whole day off I got a new camera!!!! I had been wanting a new digital camera for a while now, and last night I got one! Its the Canon powershot630. I LOVE it! It has a ton of cool features that I'm trying to learn to use. I almost did not go to work today, because I wanted to stay home with my camera.

Cherry Nut Ice Cream
My grandma (on my dad's side) would make this for us often when we would come to visit. Now, the recipe calls for walnuts, and seeing that my grandma had a walnut tree in her back yard she was covered. However, often times she would, by accident, leave part of the shells in the ice cream. Needless to say one was VERY careful eating her ice cream.
When my grandma passed away, my Aunt JoAnn starting making it for us. She greatly improved the recipe by using store bought walnuts with no shells. Our teeth were very thankful. My Aunt JoAnn became very ill before she passed away, but still when we came to visit she would always have cherry nut ice cream waiting for us.
Then my Aunt JoAnn passed away, and I thought I would never have cherry nut again. But then my dad had the idea that WE could make it!!!! We had a great time making our first batch together, not really having any clue of what we were doing. So the tradition continues. I often make cherry nut here in C-2, but Donnie seldom gets any because I eat it till I'm sick. As the picture shows I'm currently out of cherry nut. I MUST go make some more!

Burma
Warning....my posts are generally very light hearted, and never political. However, this one is not light hearted and it is political. So be warned. :-)
Today on Comcast website it had an article about a grand wedding that took place in Burma (also know as Myanmar, located in Asia)for the dictators daughter. Burma is said to be one of the poorest countries on the planet, but this wedding is estimated to cost $300,000. The people of Burma have been outraged about this. They are living in poverty and their dictator throws a huge wedding. This would make me mad also, but does it really surprise me? Nope
I spent a very short amount of time in Burma while I was teaching in English in Thailand, and it was by far the scariest place I have ever been. Freedom is such a laughable word in this place. The dictator makes sure that they remain a very isolated country by not allowing reporters in the country. If people are caught with a fax machine or a Internet hook up they are put in jail for 15 years!
My heart goes out for the people of Burma. My heart longs for the day when all God's children will be free. My heart is in constant prayer for them.
